About me
Suyeon Jung has been a professor of the Department of Economics at Jeju National University since 2004.
She has served as a member of Appraisal Standard Committee of KAPA, an organization for more than 4,000 Korean appraisers. For the first time under the 20-year history of the Korea Appraisal Society (KAS), an academic society where appraisers, professors and researchers share appraisal knowledge for the development of the Korean appraisal field, she has been appointed as a president as a woman. She is also a member of Jeju Tax Review and Advisory Committee of the local government of Jeju. She serves as s Secretary of AsRES (Asian Real Estate Society), an association of real estate researchers from 25 Asian countries, after being appointed in 2017.
She translated and published both ‘Mass Appraisal Valuation Models Using Spatio-Temporal Methods' by Rich Borst and 'Fundamentals of Mass Appraisal' by Richard Almy and Robert Gloudemans’ into Korean to inform people in Korea of the importance and significance of introducing GIS system to the Korean property tax system as it does in the U.S.
Also, as a modeler herself, she understands the importance of GIS, statistics, and econometrics, she completed Esri GIS courses of Esri Korea and she can handle SPSS, STATA, ArcGIS Pro, R, and python.
